I’m back! I never went anywhere, really — I’ve been keeping busy with various projects since my last post and thought it is time for a new post seeing how 2017 is now three-quarters behind us.  And what better way to re-start the blog than to announce the completion of construction at the Ribbon House!

Builder Holz & Stein Custom Homes just finished the last touches on this 2-story modern residence in the Midway Hollow neighborhood of Dallas.  And as a bonus for anyone searching for a hard to find modern in Dallas, it is available for sale!  I designed the home as a spec project for Holz & Stein and my guess is now that it is finished it sells fast.

Stats: 2-story, 3,000 sf conditioned area 4-bedroom, 3.5 bath home with an open-plan living room / dining room / kitchen and a second living room (media room anyone?) upstairs.  The 2-car garage sits at the rear of the lot and is accessed from the house via the spacious covered patio.

Front Elevation View.  Exterior of the home is primarily white stucco with silver metal panel accents, and custom-stained cedar around the stair volume.

Views of the Living Room & Dining Room near the Entry.  Stained white oak hardwoods, museum-finish white walls, and custom lighting throughout.

Open plan Kitchen views.  White quartz / solid surface counter tops, white lacquer and dark stained wood cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances by Fisher & Paykel.

Master bedroom and bathroom views.  Porcelain tile floors and walls, with white quartz / solid surface counter tops and specialty lighting.

Views of covered patio and rear of house.  Have an electric car?  The garage is already prepped for the charger for your vehicle!

Another view of the front of the house.  Deep front porch overhang for solar control and shading in the Texas summers.
