Dan is a licensed architect, a member of the Texas Society of Architects, NCARB and the American Institute of Architects and is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional. He draws from numerous sustainable techniques and modern building science as he develops his project designs.

Dan entered the architectural profession following several years managing advanced telecommunications projects for a large international telecom company. His passion for his hobbies of home renovation and furniture building led him to return to graduate school and refocus his career in architecture and design.

Dan worked for several Dallas-based firms, and while at the firm of former Dallas architect Lionel Morrison, led multiple teams on many significant projects including several nationally and internationally published private residences and downtown Dallas’ One Arts Plaza.

Design

Design

My design inspiration comes from many varied sources: from my travels to view architecture both new and old, from current trends and timeless designs and from all of my clients’ experiences as well.

Woodworking

Woodworking

I started woodworking as a hobby when I was young, helping my father in his shop. I’ve refined my woodworking skills alongside my design skills, applying modern methods to the craft and building custom furniture for our home.

Cycling

Cycling

I’ve been road cycling since 1991 and was US national champion as a teen. Cycling is a great time to decompress and think, and I often think through my design projects while riding. Most of my cycling is on the road but I enjoy mountain biking as a break.

Art & Sculpture

Art & Sculpture

My wife and I love art and collect various works of modern art. We are patrons of the Nasher Sculpture Center, ambassadors at the Dallas Contemporary and founders of The Dallas Art Collective. Ask me about these groups if you’re interested!

Skiing

Skiing

I really enjoy the outdoors. We picked up skiing a few years ago and enjoy the mountain atmosphere and skiing down challenging runs — my favorite place to ski is Aspen, Colorado. We also enjoy playing tennis and golf.
