Placid Circle

Eckxstudio designed this large transformation of an existing 3-story residence with a walk-out basement, expanding the house by nearly 1,900 square feet to arrive at a total of 5,500 square feet of living space. The former layout of the house was a jumble of oddly angled walls making rooms difficult to use, and every room was redesigned creating beautiful and functional spaces. Not only did we gut and redo the whole interior of the home, our design removed all of the original exterior cladding and reconfigured much of the roof structure. Standing-seam metal panels now clad both the roof and numerous exterior walls creating angled gable roof overhangs to shade the house from much of the summertime sun.

The former kitchen was far too small for the house and was doubled in size by incorporating the adjacent dining room. A new dining area with a custom-built and cooled wine wall is featured adjacent to the expanded double-height living room. A completely new and luxurious master suite was created above the expanded garage which is now large enough to hold the owners’ collection of automobiles.
