Coppedge

Eckxstudio designed this 5,200 sf modern farmhouse project in 2016 in the Midway Hollow neighborhood of Dallas. The exterior of the home features a dark, textured stone facade and board-and-batten siding borrowed from the Texas vernacular but we put a more modern spin on the materials’ forms with thin battens rather than wide, and dark stone instead of traditional cream-colored Texas limestone. A galvanized standing-seam metal roof tops the house further adding to the farmhouse nod. Inside, a modern and spacious approach gave the owners ample room for their large family; the home features two bedroom suites on the ground floor and four bedrooms plus a family room and media room upstairs. The main living room volume extends from the front of the house through the kitchen to the back of the home with a tall 13′ ceiling accented with custom wood beams and lighting.
