The Ribbon House is a two-story modern design of just over 3,000 square feet (conditioned) with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Well-suited to the hot Texas climate, the two-story home features deep roof overhangs to shield much of the south-facing windows from the summer heat and sun. The architecture is rooted in a current expression of modernism, and the ribbon-esque front facade flows across the house creating a dynamic presence on the street.
Recycled and rugged materials define the exterior palette, to stand up to the tough climate for many years. The expansive private covered patio provides the owners a respite from both the heat and nearby big city noise – the home is within ear-shot of Dallas’ Love Field Airport but due to the siting of the 2-story structure most aircraft noise is shielded away from the large patio.
